Baking Adventures

Hi Friends,

I forgot to photograph lunch today and breakfast and dindin were standard, unimpressive Kate meals.  So I thought that I would make it up to you with some food porn Christmas cookie shots :)

This guy is another PPK creation.  I followed the Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe and added almond extract and some dried cherries.  I am not usually a fan of thin, crispier cookies which is how these cookies turned out.  I am sure someone at our family Christmas gathering of around 40 people will enjoy them!

Jessica, the baking genius at How Sweet It Is, was the inspiration once again for these holidaytastic cookies.  I used her Red Velvet Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe and got a bit creative when at the grocery store.  I saw a bag of dark chocolate  and mint chips so I thought why not use those and sub mint extract for vanilla.  Do they not scream Christmas?!?   They are cooling now and smell and look amazing.  I exercised some restraint and have yet to sample any.  Don’t think I’ll last too much longer :)

Now that all of my baking and shopping are done, I am antsy for the celebrations to begin!  What are your plans for Christmas?

Take care yourselves and THANK YOU for reading!
